Global BC Sports Anchor wins $2.5 Million Lotto Prize Live on TV
Global BC is the official broadcaster of the BC Children’s Hospital Dream Lottery and their very own sports presenter: Barry Deley took out the grand prize of a country estate worth an estimated $2.5 million.
The two presenters of the draw were shocked when they realised that their colleague was in fact the winner of the multimillion dollar prize. When they drew the winner as being a Mr Barry Deley, they had a lengthy discussion about the spelling of the name and where the winner was from and then it became clear that the winner was their very own sports presenter.
They then got on the phone and told him of his massive win live on air while he was in the middle of doing his grocery shopping."It's unbelievable. It's amazing," Deley said. He then revealed that he’d had a dream of the exact scenario playing out.
Another sports present from Global BC, Jay Janower later tweeted “My colleague Barry Deley just won the house lottery!! How wild is that … he’s a great guy … too soon to ask for a few bucks??”
Deley, who lives in Port Moody with his wife Katie and their two daughters apparently said to his colleagues “You know people are going to think this is kind of fishy, don’t ya?”
